The Average White Band is anything but. This 70s Scottish funk and R&B band’s breakthrough came in 1973 by way of a supporting role at an Eric Clapton concert and shortly later topped the U.S. Hot 100 chart with “The White Album.” To this day, the group has influenced a wide range of hit groups like the Brand New Heavies and Ice Cube. How’s that for average?
Hits like “Pick up the Pieces” put the Average White Band on the map, later followed by top-40 hits including “Cut the Cake” and “Soul Searching.”

With more than four decades in the entertainment biz—as performers, recording artists and authors—the husband-wife team of Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr. will bring their "solid gold magic" to the Showroom at Casino Arizona for one can’t-be-missed performance.
As lead vocalists for the hit group The 5th Dimension in the 60s and 70s, McCoo and Davis earned accolades for numerous smash hits including "Up Up and Away,” "Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In” and "Stoned Soul Picnic." They later earned a Grammy for their hit “You Don’t Have to Be a Star (To Be in My Show” after they formed their own group. They have also enjoyed success throughout their solo pursuits—McCoo as host of hit show Solid Gold for five years, and Davis producing a gospel album—and together have accumulated seven Grammys, 15 gold and three platinum records.
