Next time Arizona art lovers are in the mood to plan a fun weekend away, they should consider heading to a Scottsdale casino for a couple of days. There are dozens of fun cultural attractions to check out and events to attend in this fabulous city, including a very special exhibit currently being shown at Arizona State University (ASU).
From now until the end of December, the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at ASU will show a variety of unique and intriguing paintings done by the artist Juan Downey. Titled "The Invisible Architect," the exhibit explores the concepts of urbanism, post-colonial theory and locality in modern art.
As ASU often hosts educational and entertaining exhibits at its Herberger gallery, travelers who will not make it to Scottsdale in time for this show should have no problem finding another to attend. Individuals may want to consider planning a trip to see one of the institution's upcoming exhibitions, such as the Changing Boundaries Map Exhibit coming to the university this January and February.
