Next time travelers make their way through Arizona to stay at a gorgeous Scottsdale resort, they should consider putting a day aside to visit the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMCA). Not only does this attraction boast an incredible permanent collection of paintings, sculptures, drawings and more, it is also known to host a variety of fascinating exhibits in its halls that switch up from season to season.

Currently, the SMCA is running its People's Biennial exhibit, an exhibition that takes remarkable pieces of art from well-known museums all over the country to form one incredible show. Though artists from Portland, Oregon; Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and Rapid City, South Dakota are all featured in this exhibit, it is the pieces done by the seven artists hailing from Arizona that visitors may be most excited to see.

In addition to this exciting exhibit, Artists Tell Stories, a combination autobiography and performance art show; and Kristen Everberg: Looking for Edendale, an architecture-based exhibition, will both be running at the SMCA until mid-January 2012. For travelers who will not make it to Scottsdale by then, there are sure to be numerous exciting exhibits running later in the spring.
