Meet the Chef

Daniel Skaggs is a San Diego native who moved to Phoenix in 2013 to pursue a career in culinary arts. He graduated with honors and distinction from the Arizona Culinary Institute in June 2014 with a certificate in culinary arts. That same year, he began his career at Casino Arizona as a part-time Line Cook I, working his way up through Line Cook II and III before becoming a Sous Chef—a role he has held for the past seven years.

Throughout his career at Casino Arizona, Daniel has worked in seven restaurants within the company, including Orange Sky at Talking Stick Resort, where he served as a Lead Cook. He is currently the Sous Chef at Cholla Steakhouse, where he continues to build on his skills in leadership, menu development, and team collaboration, while bringing creativity and passion for food.

Outside of the kitchen, Daniel is an avid video game player who enjoys collecting retro consoles and games. He also loves camping and road-tripping with his wife, finding inspiration and balance through their adventures together.
